What to Know - Notre Dame: It’s Senior Day for Notre Dame and 31 players will run out of the Notre Dame Stadium tunnel to be recognized before Saturday’s game. It will be the final time most of them run out of the tunnel, although many have 5th or 6th year eligibility remaining and could be back next year. It will definitely be Sam Hartman’s last time though and the Irish quarterback will face his former team in his sixth and final home game at Notre Dame. Hartman has thrown eight of his 18 touchdown passes this season in his first five home games. Hartman will become just the fourth Irish player to compete against his former team. Current teammate Javontae Jean-Baptiste did it earlier this season against Ohio State. Irish safety Xavier Watts leads the nation with seven interceptions this season. Five of them have come in the last three games and four of them came in Notre Dame’s last two home games. His seven interceptions have directly led to 41 points this season.

What to Know – Wake Forest: The last meeting between Notre Dame and Wake Forest was in 2018 when Ian Book, who went on to become ND’s all-time winningest quarterback, made his first career start and Hartman was playing in his fourth career game for Wake. The Demon Deacons have dropped three straight games entering Saturday’s matchup and they’ve been outscored 90-43 in the process. Fifth-year quarterback Michael Kern is set to make his first career start for the Demon Deacons. Kern’s career began a year after Hartman at Wake in 2019. Kern has played in 15 games during his five-year Wake Forest career, completing 52-of-90 passing for 679 yards and two touchdowns. He has played in just two games this season, including last week’s 26-6 loss to NC State when he went 14 of 26 for 137 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
