Irish Breakdown has confirmed through sources that Notre Dame is parting ways with wide receivers coach Chansi Stuckey. The Stuckey news was first reported by John Brice at Football Scoop.

Stuckey was in his second season with the Irish after coaching one season Baylor. The Georgia native had been a strong recruiter since arriving at Notre Dame, but his coaching - especially this season - left much to be desired.

At this time I do not know if Stuckey will be immediately removed of his duties or if he'll stay on for the bowl game. The assumption on my end is that this will an immediate move.

Notre Dame will need to hire a wide receivers coach for the second time in three years with Stuckey being let go. This also means offensive coordinator Gerad Parker gets an opportunity to be part of hiring a wide receivers coach. Stuckey was the choice of former offensive coordinator Tommy Rees, and the reference came from then tight ends coach John McNulty, who coached Stuckey in the NFL.

Parker has a wide receiver background, having played the position at Kentucky and then coaching wide receivers at Penn State, Purdue, Duke, West Virginia and Marshall. Parker and head coach Marcus Freeman will now be tasked with doing their best to keep the current wide receiver room on the roster, and the ensure that the three talented 2024 commits - Cam Williams, Micah Gilbert and Logan Saldate - to remain on target to sign in December.

If this move is immediate the Irish will likely promote a graduate assistant either as the WR coach, or have Parker take over the wide receivers and have a graduate assistant take over tight ends. Then in the offseason they can do a search for a new assistant coach.
