Notre Dame Moves Up To 18th In The Latest College Football Playoff Rankings

Notre Dame (8-3) got back on track this weekend with a convincing 45-7 win over Wake Forest, and the Irish moved up a spot in the College Football Playoff rankings following that victory. Notre Dame now ranks No. 18 in the latest playoff rankings.

There was some interesting movement in the rankings this week, with Washington moving ahead of Florida State after its win over Oregon State, and Florida State losing its starting quarterback, Jordan Travis. The rest of the Top 10 remained the same, including Missouri being ranked ahead of Louisville despite the Cardinals having a better record (10-1 vs 9-2) and having just as many Top 25 wins.

The rest of the rankings shaw some changes. Notre Dame now has a win over a Top 25 team, as NC State jumped into the rankings at No. 22 following its win over Virginia Tech, which was the program's fourth straight win.

Clemson also jumped into the rankings at No. 24. That means Notre Dame played four games against teams ranked in the current Top 25 playoff rankings, and the Irish went 1-3 in those games.
