Notre Dame Commits Make Moves In The Latest 247Sports Rankings

Notre Dame added some new players to the 247Sports rankings in their latest update

The latest 247Sports recruiting rankings for the 2024 class have been released and a number of Notre Dame players made moves up the rankings. That includes two huge jumps for a pair of committed players.

Charlotte (N.C.) Christian defensive end Bryce Young is having a monster year for the Knights. The 6-5, 250-pound Irish commit already had 18 tackles for loss and 8 sacks through just seven games. He's racked up two sacks in three different contests and has eight more pressures, has broken up three passes and has forced three fumbles (and recovered two).

Young saw his ranking skyrocket, with the former three-star prospect jumping all the way up to No. 73 overall in the latest rankings update. Young was by far the biggest riser among the Notre Dame commits.

Lufkin (Texas) High School running back Kedren Young is also having a big season for the Panthers. Young has rushed for 687 yards in five games this season, getting into the end zone nine times on the ground.

Young was previously a four-star recruit by 247Sports, but he was not part of the Top 247. That changed in the most recent update, with Young jumping all the way up to No. 101 nationally.

Notre Dame's highest ranked recruit in the 2024 class is still Saline (Mich.) High School quarterback CJ Carr. The big time signal caller has completed 71.5% of his passes this season while throwing for 1,944 yards and 17 touchdowns in just seven games. He's also rushed for eight more scores for the 7-0 Hornets.

Carr remains ranked as the No. 36 overall player in the country.

Glen Ellyn (Ill.) Glenbard South wide receiver Cam Williams moved up six spots in the latest ranking, checking in as the No. 46 overall player in the country. Williams has been a dynamic big play weapon for the 7-0 Raiders.

Notre Dame picked up a huge summer commitment when it landed Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa. It was a huge win for the Irish, and Viliamu-Asa has been exceptional as a senior. He moved up 21 spots in the latest rankings, checking in as the No. 66 player in the country.

Notre Dame's most recent 2024 commitment was big time offensive lineman Guerby Lambert, giving the Irish a huge recruiting victory. The West Roxbury (Mass.) Catholic Memorial star also saw his ranking jump up. Lambert is now a Top 100 recruit by 247Sports, moving up 36 spots to the No. 81 overall spot.

Fort Wayne (Ind.) North Side athlete Brauntae Johnson has been very good when healthy this season, and he remains one of the top players in the country. Despite falling eight spots, Johnson is still ranked in the 247Sports top rankings, checking in as the No. 171 overall player.

Notre Dame dipped into the state of Texas to land athletic edge defender Loghan Thomas, who eventually moved to Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward for his senior season. Thomas has been good for the 7-1 Eagles squad. Thomas dropped in the rankings but remains in the top group, checking in as the No. 218 overall player in the country.

Charlotte (N.C.) Christian wide receiver Micah Gilbert is another Notre Dame commit that is having an outstanding senior season. Gilbert currently has 60 catches for 777 yards and six touchdowns in just seven games. Despite his strong start to the season, Gilbert dropped out of the Top 247 rankings.
