Pennsylvania Linebacker Cole Sullivan Sets Visit To Notre Dame
The Irish Breakdown staff was informed that Standout 2024 Pittsburgh (Pa.) Central Catholic linebacker Cole Sullivan will be visiting Notre Dame on March 31st. The Sullivan family will be staying overnight to get the full Notre Dame experience.
The Pittsburgh standout made the trip to Notre Dame for games twice last season. This third visit to campus will be a big chance for him and his family to get a different perspective of the university.
Sullivan’s recruiting ranking does not yet line up with his offer list, which is very impressive. Some of the notable programs to extend offers to the Pennsylvania native include the Fighting Irish, Michigan, Miami, Oklahoma, Penn State, Wisconsin, Utah, Michigan State, Maryland, Stanford, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Iowa State, Boston College, Syracuse, Indiana, Virginia Tech, Northwestern and Duke among others.
Despite playing with a cast on his hand for most of the season, Sullivan had an outstanding campaign, racking up 117 tackles, two sacks, four pass break ups and a forced fumble. He also caught 14 passes for 268 yards as a tight end.
If Central Catholic sounds familiar, it is because Notre Dame has frequented the school several times in the past. That includes Kurt and Donovan Hinish, and linebacker David Adams, who unfortunately has to medically retire early on in his Irish career. Notre Dame was also in good standing with current Penn State 2024 linebacker commit Anthony Speca before they opted to cool him.
Linebacker recruiting in the 2024 class has been a big enigmatic so far. There are talented players on the board without question but figuring out who exactly are the key targets is a little difficult with more and more offers getting extended rapidly. The staff has taken a liking to the 6-3, 200-pound Sullivan, who plays out in space a ton for Central Catholic but Notre Dame likes him inside at linebacker.
