Notre Dame 2024 Class Moves Back Up To No. 2 In The Rankings

In this story:
Notre Dame picked up a big commitment on Monday night when the Fighting Irish picked up a commitment from Lufkin (Texas) High School running back Kedren Young. That pick up moved Notre Dame up to No. 2 in the national class rankings according to Rivals.
Notre Dame passed up Michigan after landing Young, who Rivals ranks as its No. 213 player in the country and the No. 16 running back in the class. Landing Young gives Notre Dame seven players in the Rivals100, and he's the second Rivals250 running back to commit. The other is Hannibal (Mo.) High School star Aneyas Williams, who ranks No. 108 in the rankings.
The Fighting Irish have three commits in the Rivals100, and they are all on offense. Ann Arbor (Mich.) Saline quarterback CJ Carr is Notre Dame's highest ranked commit, checking in at No. 18 overall in the Rivals rankings. Glen Ellyn (Ill.) Glenbard South wide receiver Cam Williams is next at No. 42 in the rankings. Malvern (Pa.) Prep offensive lineman Peter Jones rounds out the Top 100 Notre Dame commits, coming in at No. 90 in the Rivals rankings.
Round Rock (Texas) High School cornerback Leonard Moore is ranked as the No. 153 overall player. Katy (Texas) Paetow defensive end Loghan Thomas ranks No. 162 overall in the Rivals rankings.
It will be interesting to see how Rivals evaluates a few Notre Dame commits that are ranked lower than they are with other services. One example is Warner Robins (Ga.) High School wide receiver Isiah Canion, who Rivals ranks as a three-star recruit. Canion ranks as a Top 100 recruit on the Irish Breakdown board and he's a Top 100 recruit according to On3.
