Notre Dame Commits Dominate In Week Eight

It was a tremendous week for Notre Dame football, defeating USC 48-20 on Saturday. The future of Irish football was also on full display, putting together tremendous individual performances and big victories.

Let’s recap some of the top performances from Irish commits this weekend. Make sure you didn’t miss any of the action.

QB CJ CARR, SALINE (Mich.) HIGH SCHOOL

RESULT: Saline 70, Skyline 0

Carr’s night was over at halftime of the team’s 70-0 victory over Skyline. On the night he completed 8-10 passes for 156 yards and four touchdowns. The senior was clean all night with zero turnovers.

QB DEUCE KNIGHT (2025), LUCEDALE (Miss.) GEORGE COUNTY

RESULT: George County 28, Hancock 26

It was a massive victory for George County over a previously unbeaten Hancock squad. Knight showcased his dual threat abilities on the night, passing for 135 yards and rushing for 64 yards on the ground. He was able to get in the endzone on the ground.

RB ANEYAS WILLIAMS, HANNIBAL (Mo.) HIGH SCHOOL

RESULT: Hannibal 56, Marshall 7

Once again Williams’ full impact was not needed on Friday. During their 56-7 victory over Marshall, Williams hauled in three receptions for 87 yards and two touchdowns. Hannibal is clearly keeping him fresh for playoff time.

RB KEDREN YOUNG, LUFKIN (Texas) HIGH SCHOOL

RESULT: McKinney North 46, Lufkin 39

Despite the loss, it was another magnificent night for Young. He rushed for 184 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries. No matter what role Lufkin has needed Young to play, he’s done so with big results. He’s having a tremendous senior year.

RB JUSTIN THURMAN (2025), TAMPA BAY (Fla.) JESUIT

RESULT: Jesuit 36, Gaither 35

Thurman had his third straight impressive performance on Friday during the team’s 36-35 victory over Gaither. The junior speedster ran for three touchdowns on the night.

WR MICAH GILBERT, CHARLOTTE (N.C.) CHRISTIAN

RESULT: Providence Day 47, Charlotte Christian 13

It was a quiet night for Gilbert, hauling in two receptions for 31 yards. He had a long reception for 22 yards on the night. Gilbert did have a big interception on the defensive side of the ball.

WR LOGAN SALDATE, SALINAS (Calif.) PALMA

RESULT: Palma 52, Aptos 41

It was a big turn day for Saldate who hauled in eight receptions for 188 yards and two touchdowns. The California pass catcher is having an outstanding senior year. In seven games, Saldate has caught 35 balls for 662 yards and eight touchdowns.

TE JACK LARSEN, CHARLOTTE (N.C.) CATHOLIC

RESULT: Butler 24, Charlotte Catholic 21

Charlotte Catholic fell to Butler on Friday 24-21. Larsen and his crew hope to get back on track next week against a struggling East Mecklenburg (1-7) squad. On the season, Larsen has hauled in 28 receptions for 485 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging 17.3 yards per catch.

OT STYLES PRESCOD, FISHERS (Ind.) HAMILTON SOUTHEASTERN

RESULT: Brownsburg 21, Hamilton Southeastern 14

Hamilton Southeastern fell to Brownsburg on Friday 21-14. That dropped their record to 7-2 on the season overall. Prescod and his talented squad have a bye week before traveling to Fort Wayne Northrop (1-8) next Friday.

OT GUERBY LAMBERT, WEST ROXBURY (Mass.) CATHOLIC MEMORIAL

RESULT: Catholic Memorial 42, St. John’s 9

It was a dominant victory for Catholic Memorial, defeating St. John’s 42-9 last Friday. The team now heads into a massive matchup against St. John’s Prep (5-0). The Knights will be depending on Lambert and the offensive line big time.

OL ANTHONIE KNAPP, ROSWELL (Ga.) HIGH SCHOOL

RESULT: Roswell 70, Pope 14

The Roswell offense exploded for 545 yards and nine offensive touchdowns during the team’s 70-14 victory over Pope. It will now be a short turnaround for the 7-1 Hornets squad who will travel to Sprayberry (4-3) on Thursday.

OL PETER JONES, MALVERN (Pa.) PREP

RESULT: Malvern Prep 35, Episcopal Academy 21

Malvern Prep has quietly gotten off to a 5-1 overall record so far this season. That comes off of a 35-14 win over Episcopal Academy, their best offensive performance of the year to date. On Saturday, they will travel to take on Haverford School (3-3).

DE BRYCE YOUNG, CHARLOTTE (N.C.) CHRISTIAN

RESULT: Providence Day 47, Charlotte Christian 13

Despite the lopsided defeat to one of the top powers in the state, Young showcased his big time ability on Friday. He recorded eight total tackles, two tackles for loss and two sacks on the night. Young also blocked a field goal during the loss.

DE LOGHAN THOMAS, LAKEWOOD (Ohio) ST. EDWARD vs CB KARSON HOBBS, CINCINNATI (Ohio) ARCHBISHOP MOELLER

RESULT: St. Edward 28, Archbishop Moeller 21

In the battle of Irish commits, Thomas and St. Edward came out on top over Hobbs and his talented Archbishop Moeller said. The Crusaders fell short, failing to connect on a game tying touchdown reception in the last couple minutes of the game.

DE CJ MAY (2025), HIGHLAND HOME (Al.) HIGH SCHOOL

RESULT: Highland Home 39, Barbour County 0

Highland Home continued their dominance on Friday, defeating Barbour County 39-0. On Friday, they will welcome a less than stellar LaFayette (1-6) team.

DT SEAN SEVILLANO, CLEARWATER ACADEMY INTERNATIONAL

RESULT: Clearwater Academy 35, Riverview Sarasota

It was a quiet day for Sevillano’s standards, collecting eight total tackles and a tackle for loss. On the season, the senior has recorded 43 tackles for loss and nine sacks in seven games.

LB TEDDY REZAC, OMAHA (Neb.) WESTSIDE

RESULT: Westside 31, Millard South 14

Rezac was an important member of a stifling defense that harassed a very strong Millard South squad on Friday night. From his safety position, Rezac collected four total tackles and an interception.

LB BODIE KAHOUN, ROANOKE (Va.) PATRICK HENRY

RESULT: Patrick Henry 35, Cave Spring 28

It was another week and another tremendous performance from Kahoun. During the 35-28 win over Cave Spring, he collected 19 total tackles (12 solo, 7 assists) and two tackles for loss. On the season, he has made 127 total tackles in seven games.

LB KYNGSTONN VILIAMU-ASA, BELLFLOWER (Calif.) ST. JOHN BOSCO

RESULT: St. John Bosco 28, Mater Dei

It was a dominant performance from the St. John Bosco defense during the team’s 28-0 victory over Mater Dei. Viliamu-Asa is leading arguably the top overall defense in high school football. They held the Monarchs to just 182 total yards in the shutout.
