Notre Dame Commits Get Things Kicked Off On Thursday Night

The high school football season is week under way, providing action from Thursday to Saturday each and every week. With week two kicking off, every Notre Dame commits in both the 2024 and 2025 recruiting classes will be in action.

It starts on Thursday night with California wide receiver Logan Saldate and Arizona safety Kennedy Urlacher kick things off. Here are what to expect from each of those matchups, how to watch, and what to watch for specifically.

WR LOGAN SALDATE, SALINAS (Calif.) Palma

Matchup: Palma (1-0) at King City (0-1) (King City, Calif.)

Game Time: Thursday (8/31) at 7:00 PM ET

Last Thursday, Saldate had a tremendous outing in Palma’s season opener. During the team’s 41-12 victory over Soledad, the senior collected six receptions for 171 yards and two touchdowns. Saldate’s explosiveness was on full display during that matchup. The former Oregon State commit could very well end up being a massive steal for the Irish.

Once again Saldate will get things kicked off on Thursday night. They will be traveling to take on a King City (0-1) squad that is coming off of a 21-12 loss to Greenfield last week.

After the game, Saldate is set to make his first trip to South Bend this weekend for their matchup against Tennessee State. This will be his official visit to the school.

S KENNEDY URLACHER, CHANDLER (Ariz.) HS

Matchup: Chandler (1-0) at Mountain Ridge (0-1) (Glendale, Ariz.)

Game Time: Friday (8/31) at 7 PM ET

The team got off to a strong start last Friday, defeating Cesar Chavez by a score of 56 to 6 in dominant fashion. Urlacher’s stat line was nothing impressive during that game, not playing much in the second half due to the margin.

On Thursday, Chandler will be opposed by Mountain Ridge (0-1). The Mountain Lions are coming off of a 45-14 opening season loss to Highland. Things are not going to get any easier when Urlacher and his squad come to town.
