Notre Dame Commits Are Set For Thursday Action

On Thursday, several high school programs are set to kick off their 2023 high school seasons. That includes two Notre Dame 2024 commits in quarterback CJ Carr and wide receiver Logan Saldate. It’s a light slate but the two talented playmakers are ready to steal the show.

The future of Notre Dame football will be on full display. Carr and Saldate are ready to build off of tremendous junior campaigns. Here’s the details on both games, including how to watch them.

QB CJ Carr, Saline (Mich.) High School

Matchup: Saline (0-0) at Brighton (0-0) (Brighton, Mich.)

Game Time: Thursday (8/24) at 7:00 PM ET

The shining star of the Notre Dame 2024 recruiting class, and one of the top quarterbacks in the country, Carr is ready to get his senior season kicked off on Thursday against Brighton. The 6-3, 200-pound passer is fresh off of a fantastic junior season where he threw for 2,697 yards and 26 touchdowns while completing 69 (226-329) percent of his passes. Carr also only threw five interceptions on the season.

Saline is coming off of a 8-3 overall record in 2022. They fell to Belleville in the second round of the playoffs by a score of 62 to 44. The Hornets are preparing for a deep playoff run in 2023, starting with their matchup against the Brighton Bulldogs.

WR Logan Saldate, Salinas (Calif.) Palma

Matchup: Palma (0-0) vs Soledad (0-0) (Salinas, Calif.)

Game Time: Thursday (8/24) at 7:30 PM ET

Notre Dame quickly found their answer at wide receiver when Georgia standout Isiah Canion opted to decommit last month. Saldate became the player they wanted, and they closed on him quickly. The dynamic space player is coming off of a very impressive junior campaign where he led the team with 54 receptions for 713 yards and nine touchdowns. Saldate also carried the ball 11 times on the ground for 114 yards and two more scores.

Palma is coming off of an 8-3 overall record in 2022. The season ended on a sour note, suffering a 57 to 7 loss to Serra in the first round of the state playoffs. They did not face off against Soledad last season, who is coming off of a 9-2 record.
