Notre Dame Offers 2024 Linebacker Devin Smith

The 2024 linebacker board continues to expand with impressive talent for Notre Dame. On Monday, they extended an offer to Brunswick (Ga.) High School standout defender Devin Smith.

The Georgia standout has seen a ton of interest over the last couple of months. The Irish staff can rival anyone in terms of linebacker offers extended for 2024, which is admirable to continue to identify talent but also troubling without a clear hierarchy towards who is a priority.

Smith continues to pull in a series of impressive offers, many coming since the beginning of the new year. Some of the notable programs who have extended offers include the Fighting Irish, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Auburn, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Arkansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Iowa State, Wake Forest, Duke, Kansas, Missouri, Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt many others.

That interest comes after an impressive junior campaign for Smith. He finished second on the team in tackles (63 total) despite being limited to just nine games. The 6-3, 225-pound defender also recorded 10 tackles for loss, six sacks, recovered three fumbles and forced another.

Over the last two recruiting classes, Notre Dame has recruited the linebacker position as well as anyone in the country. With a seven man haul of Junior Tuihalamaka, Joshua Burnham, Nolan Ziegler, Jaylen Sneed, Drayk Bowen, Jaiden Ausberry and Preston Zinter over those two years, the Irish staff has their eyes set on several talented athletes to add to their momentum.

Smith is another intriguing athlete. It will be interesting to see if the staff pushes for him moving forward.
