Notre Dame Wide Receiver Board Is Reshaping Quickly

In this story:
Ever since Mike Brown took over as the wide receiver coach at Notre Dame, we have seen the 2025 recruiting board go through some shuffling. That includes going through the players who were already on the board and prioritizing their level of interest compared to the previous coach.
That also includes an expansion of the board. Since Brown coming on became official, eight new wide receivers have been offered. Here is where things currently stand with each talented pass catcher. Each player is listed chronologically by the order they were offered.
RAIDEN VINES-BRIGHT - BRADENTON (FLA.) IMG ACADEMY
Vines-Bright is a player that Notre Dame was actually doing their homework on even before Brown took over. The 6-0, 175-pound pass catcher played previously at Corona Del Sol, where he hauled in 59 receptions for 1,114 yards and nine touchdowns as a junior.
The Irish staff stopped by IMG Academy on Wednesday to check in on the talented wideout. The relationship seems to be developing well and the staff is trying to get him to make his first trip to South Bend this offseason.
TANOOK HINES - HOUSTON (TEXAS) DEKANEY
Hines was offered along with fellow 2025 Dekaney athlete Nicholas Townsend. Early on, there doesn’t seem to be a ton of interest but that can obviously change. The 6-1, 180-pound athlete has never been to South Bend yet, and has no imminent plans to make the trip as of now.
ELIJAH BURRESS - WAYNE (N.J.) DEPAUL CATHOLIC
Burress, who is the son of former New York Giant and Pittsburgh Steeler wide receiver Plaxico Burress, was just offered by Notre Dame a couple of weeks ago. He quickly set up his first visit to South Bend, which he made this past weekend. It is early in the process but obviously there is enough level of interest to check out the campus.
Coming out of the visit there appears to be some really strong momentum. If Notre Dame pushes for the 6-1, 170-pound route running specialist, they should have a very good chance in the end, and right now we expect them to push.
LEX CYRUS - HARRISBURG (PA.) SUSQUEHANNA TOWNSHIP
Cyrus put together a tremendous season as a junior, hauling in 67 receptions for 1,115 yards and 13 touchdowns. Cyrus also had a punt return touchdown in 2023. On the track, Cyrus is also a tremendous sprinter, posting a personal best time of 10.45 seconds in the 100 meter dash.
It should be no surprise that Cyrus has become one of the big risers among 2025 wide receivers. The 5-10, 175-pound athlete is lightning in a bottle. Getting him to take a visit to South Bend is a big priority.
NASIR NEWKIRK - GREENSBORO (N.C.) DUDLEY
One of the more interesting wide receiver offers so far is from Newkirk, who is a big time basketball player for Dudley as well. He has already spoken highly of the Irish and is in the process of setting up visit plans over the next couple of months. There is reason to believe that South Bend could be one of the potential trips.
The 6-2, 185-pound pass catcher put together a big time junior campaign for Dudley. In 15 games, Newkirk hauled in 51 receptions for 1,123 yards and 16 yards, averaging 22 yards per reception.
He was also a substantial contributor for the Panther defense. From the safety position, Newkirk collected 66 total tackles, two tackles for loss and broke up seven passes. He has scored 34 total touchdowns during his varsity career.
SHAUN TERRY - IRONTON (OHIO) HIGH SCHOOL
Speaking of risers, Terry has been receiving a large increase in attention from several big time programs lately. That added attention comes off of a stellar junior campaign for Terry. The Ohio star was an all purpose threat for the 11-2 Fighting Tiger squad. In those 14 games, Terry led the team with 525 receiving yards and nine touchdowns on 27 receptions, averaging an impressive 19.4 yards per reception. He also ran the football 28 times for another 391 yards and five touchdowns.
Terry is a space player with outstanding quickness, which Coach Brown seems to be valuing big time. The Ohio native made his first trip to Notre Dame this past weekend, eventually landing an offer. The Irish are firmly on his radar following that visit.
MICHAEL TERRY III - SAN ANTONIO (TEXAS) ALAMO HEIGHTS
On Tuesday, Notre Dame stopped by Alamo Heights to check in on Terry, who is one of the more physically gifted athletes in the 2025 recruiting class. Terry is being recruited as a wide receiver by some, safety by others and as an athlete as well.
During his junior season, Terry was a dominant force no matter how Alamo Heights used him. On offense, he hauled in 25 receptions for 564 yards and 10 touchdowns as a wide receiver. He also ran the ball 110 times for 995 yards and 20 touchdowns on the ground. Terry also recorded an interception on defense, while being the team’s main punter, kick and punt returner.
It remains to be seen how interested Terry is in Notre Dame, especially since he is being pursued by a long list of impressive suitors.
DONOVAN OLUGBODE - BRADENTON (ILL.) IMG ACADEMY
The IMG Academy label can make Notre Dame fans shy away, understanding the difficulties the staff has had to consistently pull talent from the school. One thing that is unique about Olugbode is that he is originally from Illinois, and still spends a lot of time there. It will be interesting to see if the Irish staff can get him to campus this offseason.
The 6-1, 200-pound pass catcher previously attended Montini Catholic in Lombard, Illinois. As a junior, he played for IMG Academy and led the team with 31 receptions for 561 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 18.1 yards per reception and 62.3 yards per contest in nine games played.
