Wide Receiver Isiah Canion Commits To Notre Dame

In this story:
Notre Dame has struck again at wide receiver by landing a commitment from Warner Robinson (Ga.) High School star Isiah Canion. The 6-3, 195-pound standout athlete does a little bit of everything for the Demons, but Notre Dame views him as a future pass catcher.
Canion played all over for Warner Robins, lining up at quarterback, wide receiver and in the secondary throughout the season. As a quarterback he passed for 584 yards and 5 touchdowns while completing 68.9% of his passes. Canion hauled in 26 catches for 395 yards and 6 scores when lined up outside at wide receiver. To top things off, Canion also picked off two passes while playing in the Warner Robins secondary.
It wasn't that long ago that Canion was a consensus three-star recruit, but he has become a hot recruit in recent weeks. On3 ranks Canion as the nation's No. 94 overall player and the 15th best receiver in the country. Recruiting services seem to be finally coming around to the fact that Canion's film shows that he is one of the best all-around football players in the country.
Canion has a unique blend of size and speed. He measured in this winter at a camp at just over 6-3 and 198 pounds. He also posted a 4.51 laser timed 40-yard dash, which is absolutely moving for a player that size. Canion still has plenty to learn about the nuances of the wide receiver position, but his feel for the game and athleticism are outstanding.
Notre Dame offered Canion in early March, and at that moment he became a priority recruit. Canion finally got on campus for a visit last week for the Notre Dame Blue-Gold Game, and now he is officially a member of the vaunted Irish 2024 recruiting class.
Canion is the second player to commit to Notre Dame in the last week, joining Hoschton (Ga.) Mill Creek defensive end Cole Mullins. In fact, Canion is the third straight Notre Dame commit to hail from the state of Georgia, which includes offensive lineman Anthonie Knapp from Roswell (Ga.) High School.
Canion earned offers from Florida State, Stanford, NC State, Cincinnati, NC State, Mississippi State, Indiana, Duke, Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt. A standout student, Canion also earned offers from Penn and Dartmouth.
The Warner Robins star is the 11th player to commit to Notre Dame, who views him as a wide receiver in college. He becomes the second wideout to pick the Irish, joining big time wide receiver Cam Williams.
