Add another one to the win column.

After taking the first game of the weekend against California on Friday, Oklahoma continued play in the Frisco College Baseball Classic on Saturday against Mississippi State.

Behind a massive offensive display, the Sooners (6-4) ran their win streak to four straight games with a 15-9 takedown of the Bulldogs (6-5).

After scoring nine runs against the Golden Bears in the first game of the weekend, OU continued to keep the bats hot in the middle contest.

Getting the action started in the second inning was Easton Carmichael, who connected on a three-run home to put the Sooners in front early.

Oklahoma wouldn’t get to enjoy that lead for long, though, as Mississippi State responded with a four-spot in the bottom half of the frame to jump in front.

But, the Sooners then one-upped the Bulldogs right back going for five runs in the top of the third on a two-run knock from Dakota Harris followed by a three-run blast from Rocco Garza-Gongora.

After MSU got one back in the bottom of the inning, OU took an 8-5 lead into the middle innings.

Mississippi State plated two more runs in the fourth to pull within one, but the Sooners were far from done offensively putting up another crooked number in the fifth.

Carmichael drove home a run on an RBI single before Anthony Mackenzie ripped a two-run double and Harris knocked in another.

The four-run frame gave Oklahoma a 12-7 advantage at the game’s midway point.

The Bulldogs would inch closer in the bottom of the frame to make it 12-9, but it was at that point that the OU bullpen began to find success.

In the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth innings, Sooners relievers Jett Lodes (1-0) and Aaron Weber would combine to blank Mississippi State’s red hot offense.

All the meanwhile, Oklahoma continued to score - adding three more runs to bring the final tally to 15-9.

The impressive win over their future conference counterpart continues a big stretch for the Sooners offensively.

Over the last four games, all OU wins, Skip Johnson’s club has struck for 7, 11, 9 and now 15 runs.

While the season is still very young at just ten games in, it looks for all the world as though Oklahoma has found its groove offensively - which could be a very scary sight for the rest of college baseball.

The Sooners will finish up play in Frisco on Sunday against Ohio State at 3 p.m. back at Riders Field.
