Don’t forget that sack by Taylor Wein on third down.

It kept Texas pinned against its own goal line, which allowed Danny Okoye to block the punt and Dakoda Fields to recover.

And that’s how quickly it can happen.

A bad punt gave the Longhorns the ball at the OU 41. It seems that was the break Steve Sarkisian was looking for to dial up his first deep shot of the game.

Cam Coleman got the best of Trystan Haynes on the very first play, and Texas is on top 7-0.

Sophomore Peyton Joseph is in at right guard after Heath Ozaeta played the Sooners' first two offensive drives.

Ozaeta appeared to be injured late in warmups but started the game for Oklahoma.

Trystan Haynes has been excellent in Eli Bowen’s place thus far.

He had the nice pass breakup on the first possession of the game, then he held up on his side of the field twice to force the Longhorns into another third down.

With that third-and-3, Heinecke, Lewis and Stone all rallied to the football to force a second Texas punt.

Brent Venables’ unit came to play.

Punting is winning! A nice boot and great coverage by Jacob Ulrich means Texas will have to get going from its 36. Not the worst outcome after OU was pinned deep, considering there was no real expectation that the offense could pick up a few first downs and help everybody breathe.

Oklahoma’s defense forces a three-and-out, but the Sooners are already on the wrong end of the field position battle.

OU will start its second drive from its own 11.

Texas won the toss. The Longhorns deferred their option to the second half.

John Mateer and the OU offense coming up first.

Something to monitor…

Heath Ozaeta just looks like he banged his knee… He pulled himself out of the huddle in warm-ups to go talk to the trainer on the sideline… This is not a drill…

2:03 p.m.

Oklahoma’s starting offensive line from left to right per warm-ups:

Fodje — Best — Maikkula — Ozaeta — Harris

Eddy Pierre-Louis has a sizeable brace on his right knee. Peyton Joseph was working as the second-string right guard behind Ozaeta.

Eli Bowen has been in and out of the Sooners' pre-game warmups.

Bowen's left ankle is very heavily taped.

— Ryan Aber

1:30 p.m.

Junior cornerback Eli Bowen was labeled as a game-time decision on today’s availability report. He helped his position group go through the initial warm-ups, and he did everything despite looking hobbled.

We’ll see if he gives it a go today. Looked pretty similar to how slow David Stone moved in the lead-up to the Georgia game, but Stone obviously was able to tough it out and put in a shift for the Sooners in Athens.
