Oklahoma Adds Second Commitment of the Day in 4-Star DL Trent Wilson

The Sooners have had a solid stretch on the recruiting trail recently, landing three 2025 prospects in the past three days.

Wednesday continues to be a successful day for Oklahoma on the recruiting trail.

After landing 4-star defensive back Maliek Hawkins earlier in the day, 4-star defensive lineman Trent Wilson announced his commitment to the Sooners this afternoon.

Rated the No. 94 overall prospect and No. 9 d-lineman in the 2025 recruiting class according to On3, Wilson chose OU over Ohio State, Penn State and Texas A&M.

Hailing from Upper Marlboro, MD, Wilson is listed at 6-foot-3 and 270 pounds with an impressove 6-foot-8 wingspan, making him a solid addition for Todd Bates along the defensive line. With Lee's Summit North (MO) interior lineman Ka'Mori Moore and Wagoner (OK) edge rusher Alexander Shieldnight already on board in the upcoming cycle, the Sooners have begun to assemble a fearsome front in the 2025 recruiting class.

Wilson visited Norman in early March for Oklahoma's "Future Freaks" recruiting event, taking photos with Bates during his trip. A few weeks prior to his time on campus, Bates, Brent Venables and Miguel Chavis visited Wilson at his high school, Dr. Henry Wise (MD), the same high school that produced current OU senior wide receiver Jalil Farooq.

Wilson began his career at St. John's in Washington, D.C. before transferring to Saint Frances Academy last spring, then spending his junior season at Dr. Henry Wise.

Shortly after taking visits to Penn State, Texas A&M, Ohio State and OU, Wilson released his Top 4, which consisted of those four schools.

On Monday, two days prior to Wilson's commitment, Sooners' freshman offensive lineman Eddy Pierre-Louis made a social media post calling for Oklahoma fans to "bring (Wilson) home!"

The talented defensive lineman is the 13th player to join OU's 2025 recruiting class, which was ranked No. 6 in the nation by Rivals and 247 Sports before the additions of Hawkins and Wilson on Wednesday. The two 4-star defenders join Shieldnight, Moore, Bauxite (AR) safety Marcus Wimberly, and Carl Albert (OK) linebacker Marcus James on the defensive side of the ball in the upcoming cycle.
