All Pokes Big 12 Rankings: Where's Oklahoma State Land?

Here's how the All Pokes staff ranks the Big 12 through five weeks of action.

With five weeks of college football in the rearview mirror, the All Pokes staff submitted their Big 12 rankings. There have been two conference games played by most programs, too, leaving a good understanding of where some of these programs are.

1. Texas (5-0, 2-0)

With a Red Rivalry game coming up, much will be learned about this Texas team and how secure their top spot in the conference is. They're coming off a win over Kansas.

2. Oklahoma (5-0, 2-0)

Like Texas, Oklahoma is seeing a huge test in the coming week and they've got the potential to overtake the Longhorns as the best team in the conference.

3. Kansas State (3-1, 1-0)

Coming off a bye week, the Wildcats' only loss comes to Missouri in a close battle. They took down UCF in their lone conference game and travel to Stillwater for a Friday night game against Oklahoma State this week.

4. Kansas (4-1, 1-1)

Coming off a loss against Texas, there's no real reason to drop Kansas too far. They were without their QB1. Losing to the top team in the conference doesn't hold too much weight when dropping in the standings.

5. West Virginia (4-1, 2-0)

West Virginia has been a pleasant surprise to the Big 12 this season. Their lone loss comes to a top-ten team in Penn State to start the season. They've taken down Texas Tech and TCU in conference play.

6. TCU (3-2, 1-1)

The opening night loss to Deion Sanders' Colorado team doesn't look too bad, and losing to an overperforming West Virginia team is a solid loss. They've taken care of business in their other three matchups with plenty of football left to play.

7. BYU (4-1, 1-1)

While they haven't had an incredibly challenging schedule, BYU played Kansas within a couple of scores and took down Cincinnati. There's much to be proved by this team, but nothing too negative has happened for them.

8. Texas Tech (2-3, 1-1)

Texas Tech has had a weird season. They took an early close loss to Wyoming, followed by an early close loss to No. 13 Oregon. Their third loss comes to West Virginia, though they handily took care of Houston. There's a lot to be learned about this team.

9. Baylor (2-3, 1-1)

Like Texas Tech, there's a lot to be learned about Baylor. They took a bad loss to Texas State, but a good loss to No. 12 Utah. They lost to No. 3 Texas to open conference play and finished an incredible comeback over UCF last weekend. Again, a lot to be learned.

10. UCF (3-2, 2-0)

After a hot 3-0 start to the season, UCF has struggled in conference play, losing both of their first two games to Kansas State and Baylor.

11. Iowa State (2-3, 1-1)

Iowa State started conference play by taking on the two Oklahoma schools, defeating Oklahoma State by a touchdown and losing to Oklahoma 50-20. They had bad non-conference losses, too.

12. Oklahoma State (2-2, 0-1)

Oklahoma State had a timely bye week. Things started to look bad after a South Alabama loss, but their loss to Iowa State was more encouraging. It'll be interesting to see how their upcoming matchup against Kansas State plays out.

13. Cincinnati (2-3, 0-2)

After a 2-0 start, Cincinnati lost to Miami of Ohio before dropping their first two conference games to Oklahoma and BYU.

14. Houston (2-3, 0-2)

Houston's two wins come over UTSA and Sam Houston. They've taken bad losses to TCU and Texas Tech on top of dropping a close game to Rice.
