Morning Report: Two Ole Miss Rebels Selected in First Day of MLB Draft

Welcome to the Morning Report, a piece from The Grove Report that highlights the news from the day surrounding the Ole Miss Rebels.
Today is July 10, 2023, and here's the news you need to know out of Oxford.
1. Ole Miss shortstop Jacob Gonzalez was selected in the first round of the MLB Draft on Sunday night.
Gonzalez has been a projected first-round pick in this year's draft for a while, but that dream became a reality on Sunday. Gonzalez will join the same organization as former Rebel Tim Elko.
2. Speaking of Elko, the Rebels legend is excited that Gonzalez is paving his way to Chicago.
Elko voiced his approval of the White Sox's selection of Gonzalez on social media Sunday night. You can see his post and read more here.
3. Following Gonzalez's selection, Kemp Alderman heard his name called in the second round.
Alderman is taking his powerful swing to the pros, joining the organizational ranks of a franchise in the NL East.
