Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake three-star edge rusher Elijah Cox made his way back to Oxford this week for an unofficial visit with Pete Golding and the Ole Miss Rebels as the program battles for his commitment.

Cox checks in as the No. 38 rated EDGE in the 2027 Recruiting Cycle with Golding and Co. beginning to build serious momentum amid a pivotal offseason for the Peach State native.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder has earned offers from the likes of the Ole Miss Rebels, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Mississippi State Bulldogs, and Missouri Tigers, among several others, across his time at the high school level.

But contenders are emerging for Cox with the Ole Miss Rebels becoming a team to watch in his recruitment after a pair of visits to the Magnolia State as of late.

After making his way back to Oxford this week, the coveted Georgia defender has now locked in an official visit with the program, he revealed via social media on Wednesday afternoon.

The Ole Miss Rebels will get Cox back to campus on a multi-day stay this offseason as the program prepares to roll out the red carpet once again.

Cox will be in Oxford (Miss.) during the weekend of June 19-21 for his official visit as Golding and Co. battle for his commitment.

Ole Miss looking to earn official visit from No. 1 prospect in Mississippi: Caden Moss.

“I think Ole Miss ultimately lands him just because of the relationships that he’s built with this staff,” Rivals' Zach said. “I think Garrison has done a phenomenal job with him. [Jake] Schoonover has been very involved, too. That’s where Ole Miss has an edge; those relationships have been consistent.”

“I’m getting stuff from sources that say Ole Miss is in a really good spot here,” Berry said. “He’s committed to Texas, but this is coming from him. This isn’t message board chatter.

“He’s talking about how much he likes Frank Wilson, how much he likes L’Damian Washington, how much he likes Pete Golding. That one’s going to be an absolute dogfight. It’s shaping up as a three-team race, and Ole Miss is very much in it.”

Now, all eyes are on pivotal offseason for the Ole Miss Rebels as priority targets emerge for the program.
