Oregon Running Back Jordon Davison Practice Footage Turns Heads Amid Injury Rumors

It was a chaotic day across social media for Oregon Ducks fans as there were rumors that running back Jordon Davison had suffered an injury that would sideline him for a significant part of the season.

This does not appear to be the case as Ducks running backs coach Ra’Shaad Samples addressed the rumor and the Oregon social media team made a point to post a picture and video of Davison active at practice.

On Wednesday morning, Oregon fans got a scare that their sophomore running back would be missing games this season. Zachary Neel of Ducks Wire reported in the morning that multiple sources close to the program said Davison had an injury that would keep him out for 6-8 weeks.

As some time went by, there were conflicting reports on the severity of this injury suffered by Davison. Was there an injury to begin with? This was one of the big questions that was asked to Coach Samples at his post practice media availability.

“I’m not sure what information was talked about or said, but I know that kid just practiced his butt off,” Samples said. “He had a really good day in practice today. He finished runs. He continuing to get his body in shape.”

From what Samples said, it sure doesn’t seem as if Davison is battling an injury that will be keeping him off the field. The official Oregon football Instagram account posted a picture and video of Davison practicing in full pads. Take a look below.

Davison looks healthy enough to at least take part in drills, which makes it confusing how false reports got out there stating he would potentially be missing 6-8 weeks. Nonetheless, it’s a huge sigh of relief for Ducks fans everywhere.

Davison missed the final game of Oregon's College Football Playoff semifinal loss to the Indiana Hoosiers last season due to a collarbone injury.

Davison is entering his second season in Eugene. The true sophomore had a good start to his collegiate career with Oregon as a true freshman in 2025. In 14 games played, Davison had 113 carries for 667 yards and 15 touchdowns. This was good for an average of 5.9 yards per carry and his 15 rushing touchdowns were the most on the team.

Oregon’s leading rusher in 2025 was running back Noah Whittington, who is now in NFL training camp with the Houston Texans. This opens the door for Davison to be the go-to back in 2026. He’ll be sharing the load with sophomore running back Dierre Hill Jr.

Like Davison, Hill was also a true freshman for Oregon in 2025. The two were the second and third leading rushers on the team. Hill had 75 carries for 656 yards and five touchdowns. Davison and Hill are a dangerous duo and should be even better in 2026 now with having a full season of experience under their belts. The Ducks running back room has the potential to be elite.
