Week 0 of the 2023 college football season is upon us. So as the season kicks off,  more projections on how team's will fare this year continue to be released.

Earlier this week, Brett McMurphy of The Action Network offered his prediction on the Oregon's 2023 season.

He projected the Ducks to face the Tulane Green Wave in the Peach Bowl in Atlanta.

Here's what McMurphy had to say about the Ducks and this matchup.

Tulane played major spoiler last season when the Green Wave took down USC to end Lincoln Riley’s first year with the Trojans. Can they do so again against another Pac-12 opponent?

Oregon has bigger fish to fry, such as a potential playoff appearance with a Pac-12 title. But based on the projections, the Ducks won’t get that far. Don’t underestimate Tulane at the end of the year."

The 2022 Green Wave featured Oregon's new safeties coach Chris Hampton as defensive coordinator and the team played in the Cotton Bowl last year. They stormed back for a late 46-45 comeback win against the USC Trojans and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams.

As for Oregon, the opportunity to return to Atlanta would be an interesting one for the Ducks. Not only would a trip to the Peach Bowl mean they had a strong year in 2023, it would likely mean they at least appeared in the Pac-12 championship game.

Oregon last played in the conference title game in 2021 and lost to the now back-to-back Pac-12 champion Utah Utes.

The game would mean also mean another shot at playing in SEC country. The last time Oregon played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, they were on the wrong end of a 49-3 loss to the eventual national champion Georgia Bulldogs.

Oregon returns a wealth of experience and production on both sides of the ball and will kick off their 2023 regular season on September 2 against the Portland State Vikings at home in Eugene.
