Oregon Hires Taylor Porter as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Dan Lanning and Wilson Love continue filling out their strength and conditioning staff.

The Oregon Ducks hired Taylor Porter as the new assistant strength and conditioning coach on Monday morning.

Porter spent the past four seasons at Michigan State in the same role. He’s had a combined 15 years of experience at the NFL and collegiate levels as a strength and conditioning coach.

"We are excited to welcome Taylor and his wife, Liz, and their daughter, Minnie, to our Oregon family," head coach Dan Lanning said in a statement. "Coach Porter is a terrific addition to our strength and conditioning staff, and his experience at both the college and professional levels will be extremely valuable for our program. I'm looking forward to seeing him pour into our student-athletes on a daily basis and help them become the very best they can be both on and off the field."

He coached on the Tennessee Titans for three years (2016-2019), then spent one season with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2019) before his four years at Michigan State (2020-2024).

"I'm excited to be joining the Oregon football strength and conditioning staff and can't wait to get to work with these guys," Porter said. "My family and I are grateful for the opportunity that Coach Lanning and Coach Love have made possible. I'm looking forward to collaborating with the performance team, and continuing the championship culture that Oregon football embodies. Go Ducks!"

Porter is a registered strength and conditioning coach with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (RSCC*D), as well as a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the NSCA (CSCS).

He's also a certified Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) mobility specialist and is CPR/AED/First Aid certified by the American Red Cross.
