Pitt Football Players, Coaches Remember Tony Siragusa

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- The greater Pitt Panthers football community is mourning after former defensive tackle Tony Siragusa passed away at the age of 55. A dominant player, beloved during his career on the field and along the sidelines as a reporter, Siragusa touched so many during his life, that much was clear in the outpouring of remembrances offered by Pitt football players, staff and alumni.
RIP BIG GOOSE ! A TRUE PITT DL LEGEND 😓 #H2P #2022forGOOSE🏆
— John D Morgan III (@JohnMorgan6__) June 22, 2022
Current Pitt defensive end John Morgan was one of the first to express his sorrow about Siragusa's passing and former Panther linebacker followed in kind. Galambos and head coach Pat Narduzzi recalled Siragusa's famed pregame speeches.
Defensive line coach Charlie Partridge and assistant director of player personnel Karlo Zovko touched on his unending love for his alma mater.
Had the honor of being around him often. Could feel his passion for his family, Pitt, and life in general every time. He will be missed. https://t.co/uyAkyszDRZ

“I went to a lot of schools (on visits), But they didn't try to blow smoke up my butt or tell me I was going to be a star. (Pitt) said I had to work for everything. I liked the people who were there. I liked the city of Pittsburgh.”

We lost a great one today and I’m truly devastated. Goose was the best. He made the most out of every moment, made sure everyone around him always had a smile on their face, and had a heart of gold. The Siragusa family is in our prayers. Rest In Peace, brother. pic.twitter.com/dVEfRRwSWV

The suddenness of losing teammates/friends/family is something I never have all the rights words for that express my feelings. Sincere condolences to the immediate family of Tony Siragusa and all of our #H2P brothers.
