Report: Pitt Basketball Bringing in Three Recruits

Pitt Basketball works to build their roster for the future, as they bring in three recruits to campus this weekend.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers are working to add new talent to the roster this offseason in transfers and recruits to bolster the program in years to come.

Florida State transfer forward Cam Corhen, Houston transfer guard Damian Dunn and Class of 2025 guard Derek Dixon will all visit campus this weeknd, according to George Michalowski of Pittsburgh Sports Now.

Corhen, who stands at 6-foot-10 and 225 pounds, spent the past two seasons with the Seminoles, averaging 8.8 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, respectively, while shooting 58.7% from the field and 73.5% from the foul line, respectively.

He started 12 of 28 games he played in last season, scoring 9.4 points, grabbing 3.9 rebounds and 0.8 steals per game on average, respectively, and shooting 62.9% from the field and 67.2% from the foul line.

Corhen had one of his best games of the season against Pitt back on March 5 at the Petersen Events Center. He scored a career high 25 points on 8-for-12 shooting from the field, 75%, and coverting nine of his 10 free throw attempts, while also making eight rebounds, a steal and a block.

Dunn spent one season at Houston after transferring in from Temple the season prior. The 6-foot-5 guard only started four of the 37 games he played in, averaging 6.4 points and 2.3 rebounds per game last season, shooting 35.9% from the field, 31.7% from 3-point range and 70.6% from the foul line as well.

He was more successful at Temple, putting up career-highs of 15.3 points and 3.0 assists per game, respectively, as a redshirt junior in 2022-23. Dunn also shot 41.1% from the field, 34.8% from 3-point range and 81.4% from the foul line, respectively.

Dixon plays for Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C. and comes in as one of the better recruits in the Class of 2025. 247Sports rates him as a four-star, as well as the second best player in D.C. No. 11 best combo guard and the No. 72 overall recruit in his Class, respectively.

He will make his official visit this weekend, and then will take another one to ACC foe Virginia next Friday, April 19. Dixon took an unofficial visit to Pitt in October 2022.

Dixon is an exceptionally talented guard. He possesses great shooting range and dribbling skills, as well as the ability to drive through contact to score at the rim and good vision to find his teammates for easy baskets.
