Gamecock Target Micah Gilbert Commits to Notre Dame
Four-star WR Micah Gilbert has committed to Notre Dame. The 38th-ranked receiver in the class of 2024 has chosen the Fighting Irish over schools such as South Carolina, Michigan, and North Carolina.
The Charlotte native is one of the more exciting athletes in the class of 2024, thanks to his mature size and developed ability. Only a few high school athletes look as crisp as Gilbert, which is part of his main appeal. The pass-catcher is expected to be an immediate impact player.
Though South Carolina missed on Gilbert, they still have plenty of receiving talent they're targeting in this cycle like Jonathan Paylor and Parker Livingstone. South Carolina's 2024 recruiting class already has elite receiving talent, such as WR Mazeo Bennett and TE Michael Smith.
South Carolina has been stellar in their efforts on the recruiting path this off-season, so there's little reason to feel discouraged by Gilbert's commitment. Even being a finalist for the receiver is evidence of the Gamecocks' furthered recruiting pedigree.
