Gamecock QB Commit Dante Reno Named MVP At Under Armour Camp

South Carolina Football commit Dante Reno participated in an Under Armour Next Camp this past weekend, and his performance left evaluators impressed.

South Carolina's 2024 class has created a ton of buzz both within the city of Columbia and also on the national stage, as the Gamecocks are currently viewed as being in possession of a Top 10 class across all major recruiting services. The class began to gain notoriety back in January, when they secure the commitments of Kam Pringle, Michael Smith and Wendell Gregory within days of each other, but it shouldn't be forgotten that this class truly began back in July of 2022, when Dante Reno announced his commitment to Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks.

Since that commitment, Reno has not only made it his mission, but in a lot of ways led the charge in trying to bring in a plethora of other targets in the class, an effort that has permeated to other commits in the class like Pringle and Mazeo Bennett. Reno, however, still has one more high school season left before he arrives to Columbia, and thus has a chance to show why he's one of the top quarterbacks in the country.

This past weekend, Dante Reno was a participant in the Under Armour Next camp in New Jersey, which hosted some of the best prospects from the New England region. While the weather wasn't too kind to the prospects who showed up, testing drills and an exhibition were still a full-go, and Dante Reno showed enough to be named the MVP of the UA Game in New Jersey.

Reno will be playing his final year of high school football at Cheshire Academy in Cheshire, CT.
