In this story:

Stanford basketball is off and running to Sin City. Despite a disappointing season that saw the Cardinal miss the NCAA Tournament yet again, the Cardinal still find themselves playing postseason basketball, set to travel to Las Vegas to take part in the second edition of the College Basketball Crown.

Created last year by Anschutz Entertainment Group and Fox Sports, the CBC features Power Four teams and a large prize pool, making this tournament very high stakes for the eight selected teams.

The Cardinal are looking to go in and win it all, hoping that a CBC tournament win gives them something to build off for next season, and lead to their first March Madness appearance since 2014.

That season, the Cardinal narrowly snuck into the Big Dance, but made it all the way to the Sweet Sixteen and surprised a lot of people. This is also something the Cardinal hope to do in this year's CBC. A day out from the Cardinal's opening round matchup against West Virginia, the team's travel roster was revealed, with not everyone on the team set to make the trip.

Headlined by star freshman, Ebuka Okorie, the Cardinal will take 12 of their players to Las Vegas, leaving off a couple of notable names. But given how tight head coach Kyle Smith's rotation will be, 12 players makes sense. Here is the full roster of Stanford players set to go to Vegas.

The Cardinal are not taking any walk-on players and are leaving some scholarship players behind such as Anthony Batson Jr., Tallis Toure, Myles Jones, Kristers Skrinda and Chisom Okpara.

Okpara dominated when healthy this season, and was the program's second-leading the Cardinal in scoring through 17 games, but after suffering a season-ending injury in January, his omission from the travel roster was to be expected. Skrinda, one of the Cardinal's first signees for the class of 2025, played a limited role as a freshman, averaging 0.8 points, 1.6 rebounds and 0.1 assists.

The College Basketball Crown is an eight team tournament, and a win over West Virginia on Thursday would put the Cardinal in the semifinals on April 4, with their opponent either Rutgers or Clemson. Both teams have shown flashes of their greatness this season and will be very tough matchups for the Cardinal.

Regardless, the Cardinal are ready for the challenge and are eager to prove that they have what it takes to win the second-ever College Basketball Crown.
