No. 20 Texas A&M Run Rules Sam Houston State For Sixth Consecutive Win

Fresh off of an offensive masterclass in Columbia during their sweep over the Missouri Tigers, the No. 20 Texas A&M Aggies kept that same level of production up Tuesday night against the Sam Houston State Bearkats, taking a 16-2 win in a mercy rule-shortened affair.
The game got off to a slow start, with both teams only having a single run to show for after three innings before the Maroon and White began pouring the runs on, plating 15 runs across the last trio of frames to send the 5,383 fans at Blue Bell Park home early.
Grant Cunningham took his second win of the season, while the win marked A&M's sixth consecutive and second straight in seven innings.

Co-SEC Players of the Week Gavin Grahovac and Jorian Wilson each showed off their power by blasting home runs that both went at least 440 feet, with Grahovac's blast marking his fifth in the past three games dating back to the series against Missouri.
"I don't want to say that it looks like a beach ball, because that's too cliche," Grahovac said to the media after the game when asked how the baseball was looking to him in the past few games. "I'm seeing it well right now, though. It's like a little bigger than a cherry, a little smaller than a bowling ball or something like that."
Freshman third Nico Partida, who was recently crowned Midseason Freshman of the Year by Perfect Game, showed exactly why he was deserving of the honor Tuesday night, going a perfect 4-for-4 at the dish with a double and three runs batted in.
"It's special that when I go up to hit that I'm pretty confident I'll have someone on base to score, and I'm also confident that when I get on base, I have people behind me that can score me," Partida said after the game, talking about the power of the Aggie lineup so far in the 2026 season. "It' a great group of guys. I'm really confident in what they can all do."
Eight of the nine starters in the Aggie lineup had at least one hit on the night, and six of them recorded multi-hit nights, resulting in a total of 17 hits for the Maroon and White.
The Ags scored five runs in the fourth inning, three in the fifth, and seven in the sixth, also their fourth game in a row with a seven-run inning.
When asked about the challenge of putting together a lineup with as much firepower as the Aggies have, head coach Michael Earley talked about one part of the order that was a no-brainer.
"Well, one, two, three, (Gavin Grahovac, Caden Sorrell, Chris Hacopian) is pretty easy. You always feel better, when you're layering those guys (in the rest of the order) in there," Earley said after the win.
Texas A&M will stay in College Station for their weekend series, hoping for a repeat of their last three-game series when they host the Vanderbilt Commodores, with the first game scheduled for Thursday night at 6:00 PM.
