Big 12 Basketball: Scheduling Matrix Announced For 2023-24 Men’s and Women’s Teams

Last week, the Big 12 Conference announced the new scheduling matrix for both the men's and women's conference basketball games. The change comes after four teams – BYU, UCF, Cincinnati, and Houston – joined the league earlier this month.

Every team in the conference will continue to play 18 conference games this coming season. In previous years, those 18 games meant each team would play a home-and-home series with each league team. Now, with 14 teams, a new matrix was needed.

Teams will play five Big 12 opponents twice, then the other eight conference opponents once, for 18 Conference games.

Opponents were selected based on a combination of geography, historical results, and a poll of the coaches to best balance the schedule in terms of travel and competitiveness. A full Big 12 schedule will be released at a later date.

TCU Men's Basketball will play home and away games with Baylor, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Texas Tech, and West Virginia. They will host UCF, Houston, Oklahoma, and Texas. The Frogs will travel to BYU, Kansas, Kansas State, and Oklahoma State.

TCU Women's Basketball will play home and away games with BYU, Houston, Texas, Texas Tech, and West Virginia. They will host UCF, Oklahoma State, Kansas, and Kansas State. The Frogs will travel to Baylor, Cincinnati, Iowa State, and Oklahoma.
