TCU Men's Basketball: Horned Frogs' Struggles Continue in Loss to Iowa State

In this story:
It was another rough night for the TCU Horned Frogs (17-9, 6-7) in a 70-59 loss to Iowa State (17-8, 8-5). The Frogs lost their star guard Mike Miles on January 28th and since then, have only mustered one win. The 59 points by TCU were tied for a season low.
TCU got off to a slow start scoring three points in the first seven minutes. Shahada Wells led all TCU scorers with 15 points, seven rebounds and three steals shooting 50% from the floor. Micah Peavy had an efficient night scoring 13 points on 6-9 shooting.

TCU shot 5-19 from three, and this has been an ongoing problem all season. The Frogs have the lowest three-point percentage in the Big 12 and have made the fewest threes. Iowa State shot 5-12 from downtown in the first half. Aljaz Kunc was on a roll, scoring 22 points and knocking down five triples.
Teams have taken notice of TCU's ability to score in transition. They've emphasized the need to get quick possessions and capitalizing on fast break opportunities due to their lack of shooting. However, teams have been able to limit that and the offense has struggled. Certainly the absence of Miles has hindered this offense, and we're all hoping he can return soon, but TCU has to find a way to win without him.
The Frogs return to Fort Worth and will host Oklahoma State this Saturday at 1 p.m.
