UCLA Baseball: Bruins Fall Flat, Drop College Baseball Classic to UC Irvine

The UCLA Bruins baseball team got the chance to play at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles today as part of the College Baseball Classic. They took on UC Irvine in the game but didn't muster up much of any offense. The final score was 5-2.

Myles Smith of UC Irvine led off the game with a home run, and the Bruins trailed from there. Duce Gourson tied the game in the 5th inning with an RBI groundout, scoring AJ Salgado, who opened the inning with a leadoff double.
From there, the game was back and forth until the 7th inning. UC Irvine's Caden Kendle hit a grand slam to break the game open, and the Bruins couldn't come back.

UCLA now sits with a record of 5-5 on the season. It was a tough game for them, but they now have a quick turnaround. Up next for them is a matchup against Long Beach State on the road on March 5, with the first pitch scheduled for 6 pm PT.
