UCLA Football: Browns Insider Unpacks Dorian Thompson-Robinson's First Pro Game

Not an ideal debut.

Former UCLA Bruins standout signal caller Dorian Thompson-Robinson didn't have his best stuff this past weekend for his surprise first start in the NFL.

The new Cleveland Browns quarterback got his chance for his new team but failed to get the win in what turned out to be a rough day for the young signal-caller.

Baltimore boasts one of the strongest defensive units in football so it's understandable that Thompson-Robinson struggled to some degree.

Deshaun Watson's shock replacement due to his shoulder injury wasn't his best this weekend after a crushing loss to the Browns' division rival.

DTR completed just 19/36 of his passes for a completion percentage just over 52% and wound up a key factor in the 28-3 in Week 4 of the NFL season.

The rookie also threw three interceptions and got sacked four times in what proved to be tough sledding for the entire Browns offense without star running back Nick Chubb.

It's a tad surprising to see DTR struggle this badly after his stellar preseason won him the backup job for his new AFC North employer.

The old Bruins passer beat both Kellen Mond and Josh Dobbs for the secondary job in Cleveland but didn't pay that choice off this past weekend.

Cleveland now hold a 2-2 record after their defense failed to stop Lamar Jackson and his dynamic skillset on a great day for the Ravens despite heavy injuries on both sides of the ball.

Baltimore now lead a heavily contested AFC North with a 3-1 record and have another divisional clash with Pittsburgh on the schedule for them in week 5.

Thompson-Robinson will likely head back to his bench role with a healthier Watson as the Browns head into their bye week with a .500 record.

Though it wasn't the best debut for the UCLA phenom we know this isn't the last we've seen from the talented young passer.
