The UCLA Football program (and its fan base) needs some holiday cheer at the moment.

Forget the banners flying over campus calling for the dismissal of your head coach. Smile as you swallow the proverbial pill that is your highly-regarded defensive coordinator moving across town to coach for your hated rival. There's something else to keep in mind...

...IT'S BOWL SEASON!

Even more fortuitous for the beleaguered Bruins is the fact it doesn't even need to hop on an airplane to get to their bowl destination.

According to various reports, UCLA will get to play in SoFi Stadium right down the 405 versus the Boise State Broncos.

The Bruins (7-5) have lost three of its last four games. Five members of the team have already entered the transfer portal. With the optimism around the program akin to having a root canal, being able to stay close to home for this contest likely was the best-case scenario for a team expecting to hit the reset button majorly during the offseason.

Boise State (8-5) uncharacteristically failed to reach the 10-win mark. However, it ended the season on a four-game win streak -- including a 44-20 thumping of UNLV in the Mountain West Championship Game.

If the Bruins are to win this contest, it'll have to slow down the Broncos' potent rushing attack featuring QB Taylen Green, thumper George Holani, and stud RB Ashton Jeanty.

The game will be played Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Formerly sponsored by media personality Jimmy Kimmel, this will be the first year in which the LA Bowl is sponsored by former NFL great Rob Gronkowski.
