UCLA Basketball: Intriguing Local Product Talks In-Season Growth

The Bruins are seeming to find their stride.

After a slow start to the 2023-2024 season, the UCLA Bruins seem to have found their stride.

It wasn't the prettiest of starts for the Bruins, but they've been on a roll for the past couple of games. The Bruins have won five of their last six games, including their 71-63 win over the Oregon Ducks at home.

The Bruins are back to .500 at 11-11. It's taken a lot of players and coaches to come together and play the right brand of basketball.

UCLA Bruins freshman forward Devin Williams spoke to Ben Bolch of The Los Angeles Times and talked about the team's growth from the start of the season to now.

Although the season isn't over, it's been a long time coming for the Bruins. The Bruins were down in the dumps in late December and early January. They were coming off a four-game losing streak almost a month ago and suffered one of the worst losses in program history to Utah, 90-44.

It was the worst display of basketball from the Bruins in a really long time. However, the Bruins have turned the ship around since that horrific loss.

The players are playing defense, and they're playing together on both sides of the ball. Entering the year, the Bruins had zero expectations due to being a young team.

This young team seems to be growing together, with the results showing that fact. The Bruins are playing basketball at the right time; hopefully, it's not too late for their own sake.

Williams and the crew will look to continue their outstanding play and move up the Pac-12 rankings.
