Top-Ranked 2024 Recruit Addisen Fisher Commits to UCLA Softball

Extra Inning Softball's No. 1 prospect in the country is headed to Westwood, with the pitcher set to join the Bruins next season.

The Bruins have secured the commitment of one of the top hurlers on the West Coast and in the nation.

After official visits with both UCLA Softball and their rival Oklahoma, class of 2024 right-handed pitcher Addisen Fisher has decided to commit to the Bruins, the Bend High School (OR) product announced Monday evening on Twitter. Fisher took an official visit to Norman on Sept. 25, but she spent this past weekend with coach Kelly Inouye-Perez and the Bruins on a second official visit to Westwood before eventually sealing her commitment.

Fisher told Extra Inning Softball that she been contacted by over 40 teams since coaches were first allowed to reach out on Sept. 1, including 17 of the top 25 programs in the country. UCLA, having won 12 Women's College World Series titles, beat each and every one of them in the sprint that was Fisher's recruitment.

Fisher is currently the reigning Oregon softball Gatorade Player of the Year. After winning the honor in 2021, the 5-foot-11 hurler also claimed the award in 2022 for her efforts in her sophomore campaign. At the Oregon Sports Awards, Fisher was named Softball Player of the Year, beating out two other finalists.

Pitching for Bend in 2022, Fisher sent opposing hitters back to the dugout at an imposing rate. The then-sophomore had a 20-1 record with a 0.46 ERA, 256 strikeouts and 17 walks in just 122.1 innings. Adding on to her statistical achievements, Fisher completed six no-hitters and one perfect game over the course of the season as well.

Fisher hit the ball with consistency, pairing an elite bat with her dynamic pitching. The right-handed recruit launched 13 home runs while hitting .520 at the plate with 32 RBIs and 50 runs scored.

Extra Inning Softball and Softball America have Fisher ranked as the No. 1 player in the class of 2024, making her the expected No. 1 freshman in the country come the 2025 season.

UCLA has a long list of pitchers who have made a major impact at Easton Stadium in recent years, with many coming to Westwood with loads of hype, yet still managing to exceed their high expectations. Rachel Garcia, Megan Faraimo, Holly Azevedo and more have helped lead the Bruins to the Women’s College World Series with regularity the past few seasons, and associate head coach Lisa Fernandez was one of the most dominant players in softball history before becoming one of the top recruiters in the nation under Inouye-Perez.

Fisher still has two years until she reaches the college level, but she could be the next player on that long list of blue and gold to have success in the circle on the biggest stages in the sport.
