UCLA Football: DeShaun Foster Makes Huge Accessibility Change For Reporters
During the UCLA Bruins' first spring practice run of the year under new head coach DeShaun Foster last week, The Los Angeles Times' Ben Bolch has revealed that Foster had opted to make player accessibility far more key for attendant reporters than it had been in recent vintage.
Specifically, Bolch writes that players' names were on their practice jerseys, thus helping reporters identify who was who among the new-look team, "for the first time anyone who had been around the program for decades could remember."
Foster reiterated that this was done for reporters to enjoy ease of access.
“I just think that you guys should know who the players are instead of numbers and stuff like that,” Foster said. “Coaches better learn everybody’s names, but for you guys to see people, I thought that would be better off.”
This was a small thing, but a great decision and tactical way for the new head coach to open things up in an inviting way.
