TMZ Posts Chilling Video Of Alijah Arenas' Cybertruck Accident Before Coma

"I need all youre f*cken prayers," wrote Govan. Govan and Gilbert share four kids: Izela, Alijah, Hamiley and Aloni.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded early Thursday morning to a call about a Tesla Cybertruck crashing, according to Shams Charania of ESPN. Charania also confirmed that sources reported Arenas did not suffer any broken bones. Arenas was taken to the hospital in “stable condition" per reports from LAPD.

According to a report from High School on SI's Tarek Fattal, Arenas' induced coma was due to smoke inhalation from the fire caused by the accident of the Cybertruck.

TMZ posted the video of the crash aftermath.

Support and prayers for Alijah Arenas has been pouring in on social media.

LeBron James' son, Bryce, took to Instagram for well-wishes for Arenas. 

"Praying for u," James wrote with a heart emoji and a praying hands emoji.

Alijah Arenas is the son of Gilbert Arenas, an 11-year NBA veteran and three-time All-Star. He is one of the most exciting prospects in the country with immense upside. According to 247Sports, Arenas is the No. 1 shooting guard in the country, the No. 2 prospect out of California, and the No. 7 overall recruit regardless of position.

Arenas committed to USC on Jan. 30 on his father's podcast, "Gil's Arena." Arenas committed to the Trojans over offers from UCLA, Alabama, Kansas, Kentucky and Arizona, among other schools.

Most recently, Arenas played in the 2025 McDonald's All-American Boys Game. He had 11 points in the game as he was part of the West team that defeated the East team, 105-92.

The 18-year-old played at Chatsworth High School in Los Angeles and helped lead them to back-to-back state final appearances. As a senior, he averaged 31 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game.

Arenas announced his reclassification in January, bumping up to the 2025 class from the 2026 class.

A scouting report on Arenas displays his promise.

"Arenas, while missing some time this summer with injury, also had a strong showing at the USA Basketball U17 Training Camp," On3 Director of Rankings Jamie Shaw wrote about Arenas. "While he ultimately did not make the team, he was one of the final players cut, showcasing some impressive scoring chops at multiple levels along the way. The Chatsworth (CA) High guard has a developed scoring acumen with the requisite positional size as he continues to move forward in level.”
