The Miami Marlins lost on Saturday to the Cincinnati Reds but the hope is that the game is all they lost.

The team saw star outfielder Jazz Chisholm leave the game in the eighth inning after colliding with the wall while trying to track down a double. According to an article on MLBTradeRumors, Chisholm stayed down for several minutes and was eventually diagnosed with a right foot contusion.

The article also references that Chisholm told reporters after the game he was feeling somewhat better, so the hope is that he can avoid the injured list.

That said, it's hard to imagine him playing tomorrow and with an off-day Monday, we may not know anything until Tuesday.

Chisholm has struggled out of the gate this year at the plate, hitting just .229. He does have seven homers and 14 steals.

One of the more charismatic players in the game, he was the cover athlete of this years MLB The Show franchise. He made his debut in 2020 and burst onto the scene in 2021, hitting 18 homers and stealing 23 bases.

The Marlins also saw outfielder Jesus Sanchez leave with hamstring trouble in the loss, so they'll be holding their breath on both fronts.

With the loss, the Marlins are now 19-21 and in fourth place in the National League East. They are 0.5 games behind the New York Mets for third, one game behind the Phillies for second and 6.5 behind the division leading Braves.

The Marlins have lost two in a row and squandered a chance to make up ground, as the Braves have now lost three straight.
