After he left a game on Saturday with a foot injury, we now know that Miami Marlins outfielder Jazz Chisholm will miss 4-6 weeks.

The timeline: Chisholm left Saturday's game against the Reds after colliding with a wall in the OF. He was trying to track down a double.

Sunday: Chisholm was diagnosed with turf toe.

Tuesday: We learned that Chisholm would miss 4-6 weeks with the injury, meaning the Marlins will be without their offensive catalyst for at least a month.

Chisholm has struggled out of the gate this year at the plate, hitting just .229. He does have seven homers and 14 steals. Defensively, he has transitioned well to the outfield. The Marlins re-worked their infield this year, bringing in Jean Segura and Luis Arraez, so Chisholm moved to the outfield.

One of the more charismatic players in the game, he was the cover athlete of this years MLB The Show franchise. He made his debut in 2020 and burst onto the scene in 2021, hitting 18 homers and stealing 23 bases. Despite his struggles at the plate, his personality and ability will be missed by the Marlins, who are looking to stay alive in the National League East race.

The Marlins are currently 21-21 this season and in second place in the division. They trail the Braves by five games, as Atlanta has left a little opening, having lost six of their last 10.

The Marlins will host the Nationals on Wednesday night at 6:40 p.m. ET.
