Bryan Reynolds Reportedly Rejected a Six-Year Extension from Pirates

In this story:
According to the New York Post's Jon Heyman, the Pittsburgh Pirates offered outfielder Bryan Reynolds a six-year extension worth $75 million. Reynolds and his camp reportedly rejected the offer.
Per Heyman, Reynolds' camp believes the outfielder should receive an extension comparable to the eight-year, $168 million deal that first baseman Matt Olson received from the Atlanta Braves last spring.
The Pirates have received interest from a number of teams that would like to acquire the outfielder via trade. One executive of a team that is interested in Reynolds' services told Heyman that the Pirates' requests were "unrealistic asks."
The New York Yankees are among teams that are interested in Reynolds. The Yankees appear to still be figuring out who will play left field for the club in 2023, after Andrew Benintendi signed a five-year, $75 million contract with the Chicago White Sox.
The Yankees could use Oswaldo Cabrera, Oswald Peraza and Aaron Hicks in left field, with Harrison Bader in center and Aaron Judge in right. The club could also add a free agent outfielder such as Trey Mancini or David Peralta, who are both still available on the open market. The Yankees could also look for another outfielder via trade, with Reynolds and Chicago Cubs left fielder Ian Happ as potential options.
Reynolds reportedly requested a trade from the Pirates last month. Happ is entering the final year of his contract with the Cubs.
