The Seattle Mariners have been a middle of the pack team for the last few years, but they finally pushed all their chips into the middle of the table and went for it all this season. They swung trades for stars like Eugenio Suárez and Josh Naylor in pursuit of the World Series.

But they ultimately came up short. They lost in the American League Championship Series to the Toronto Blue Jays. Now, Suárez and Naylor are headed for free agency. Both stars are expected to sign massive contracts and it's hard to imagine the Mariners would have the money and aggressiveness to reunite with both sluggers.

Bleacher Report's Zachary Rymer recently predicted the Mariners would lose Suárez in free agency as Rymer suggested he would sign a two-year, $44 million deal with the Los Angeles Angels.

"The Mariners never should have traded Eugenio Suárez in 2023, and he made sure they regretted it right up until they brought him back this July," Rymer wrote. "This year marked the second time that Suárez has hit as many as 49 home runs in a season, and they tended to come in bunches. He had seven multi-homer games, including a historic four-homer game on April 26. He also had three months in which he cleared 10 home runs.

"It was largely because of the home run ball that the Angels were more competitive than expected this season. They might as well double down, and Suárez would fit nicely at the hole at third base that probably won't be filled by Anthony Rendon ever again."

The Angels seem to want to contend each season, but they continue to fall short. This offseason is expected to be similar to last offseason, as the Angels look to be a bit aggressive in free agency.

Signing a player like Suárez makes perfect sense. He's a talented slugger who's certainly worth $22 million a season for the Angels. Los Angeles could afford a move like this, and it would push them a bit closer to a postseason berth.

The only issue could be another team stealing him on a slightly richer deal. There are bound to be more than a handful of suitors for the Mariners slugger.
