Former Seattle Mariners and Cincinnati Reds outfielder Ken Griffey Jr. has been retired since 2010, but he is making sure to stay as close to the action as he can.

The Hall of Fame slugger worked as a sideline photographer at Sunday's NFL game between the Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys at State Farm Stadium. This isn't the first time he's appeared with a camera this year, considering he did the same at the Home Run Derby in July, as well as an MLS match between Inter Miami and Nashville SC in August.

Griffey played for the Mariners from 1989 to 1999 – plus another stint from 2009 to 2010 – then the Reds from 2000 to 2008. In addition to making 13 All-Star Games, Griffey won an MVP, seven Silver Sluggers, 10 Gold Gloves and three Home Run Derbies.

Following his retirement, Griffey picked up sports photography. He posted previews of his work on Instagram over the years, sharing photos from the Fiesta Bowl and Monday Night Football all the way back in 2015.

Griffey isn't the only player from the 1990s Mariners to take up photography as a post-baseball passion, either.

Pitcher Randy Johnson has also been known to work as a sideline photographer at NFL games, in addition to taking nature photos in Africa. The National Baseball Hall of Fame actually unveiled an exhibit for Johnson's photography in Cooperstown earlier this year.

It remains to be seen if The Kid can match The Big Unit's prestige with a camera, but he appears to be staying busy working on his craft regardless.
