Dana White Gets Brutally Honest About Conor McGregor's UFC Future

Will Conor McGregor ever fight again?

UFC President Dana White didn't shy away when asked about Conor McGregor's fighting future.

There's been much speculation over the "Notorious" one's plans. While he is a coach on season 31 of "The Ultimate Fighter" opposite Michael Chandler, some have raised doubts about McGregor's next fight. While the UFC would like to book McGregor vs. Chandler before 2023 comes to a close, some fans are skeptical that the bout ever becomes a reality. Even former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen has cast doubt on the matchup.

There was also an issue with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). McGregor had been out of the testing pool and debated USADA's rule that he had to undergo six months of clean testing before being eligible to compete. Ultimately, McGregor claimed everything was solved and he'd be re-entering the pool.

During the UFC Vegas 74 post-fight press conference, Dana White was asked about McGregor's future, and the UFC boss admitted that it may be hard to lure the Irishman back inside the Octagon.

"First of all, Conor called me a couple of days ago and loved the first episode of The Ultimate Fighter, and saying how happy he was that he was a part of it," White said. "I think being here and the environment and everything else, he felt it again and felt like he wants to get back and fight. The one thing that you guys have to understand is, this kid has so much money. It's like Khabib now. It's like, these guys got s***loads of money and it's hard to reel these guys back in get them fired up to get in a fight."

White insisted that he never grows worried when a big star is on the verge of walking away. The UFC boss said he can't be concerned about it because it's "a part of the game." White also noted that it's his job to ensure that he maximizes the most out of the UFC talent pool in hopes that their popularity skyrockets.
