Massive Fight Featuring Two-Time UFC Champion Reportedly Targeted for UFC 332

A massive fight for the UFC’s bantamweight title picture is reportedly in the works for UFC 332.

Announced during the broadcast for last Saturday’s UFC Vegas 120 event, UFC 332 is scheduled to take place on October 3 and will see the UFC return to the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, UT for the first time since 2024.

Only a handful of bouts are confirmed for the card so far, but Léo Guimaraes reports that the promotion is working on putting together a huge bantamweight clash between Deiveson Figueiredo and Payton Talbott for UFC 332.

Deiveson Figueiredo Looks to Halt Payton Talbott's Rise at UFC 332

A two-time UFC flyweight champion, Figueiredo has been competing at bantamweight since 2023 and is currently the #11 contender in the division's Meta UFC rankings.

Following a loss to Brandon Moreno in their fourth meeting at UFC 283, “Deus Da Guerra” moved up to 135 lbs. and put together a three-fight win streak that included a submission-win over former UFC Bantamweight Champion Cody Garbrandt.

That winning run was halted at UFC Macau when he dropped a decision to current UFC Bantamweight Champion Petr Yan, and a knee injury in his follow-up fight with Cory Sandhagen gave Figueiredo the first back-to-back losses of his fighting career.

A split decision over Montel Jackson returned Figueiredo to the win column in late 2025, but the former UFC titleholder currently finds himself on another two-fight skid after coming up short against Umar Nurmagomedov and Song Yadong.

Payton Talbott Defeated Future UFC Hall of Famer Henry Cejudo in December

Talbott is currently unranked in the Meta UFC Top 15 for the bantamweight division, but the media rankings have him sitting as the division’s #11 contender following the biggest win of his career at UFC 323.

A contract winner on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2023, Talbott stopped his first three UFC opponents and earned “Performance of the Night” bonuses for his back-to-back knockouts of Cameron Saaiman and Yanis Ghemmouri in 2024.

An undefeated run to start the 27-year-old’s career came to an end at UFC 311 when he dropped a decision to longtime bantamweight veteran Raoni Barcelos, but Talbott returned to the win column at UFC 317 when he defeated Felipe Lima.

Talbott was given a sizeable step up in competition when he was matched with former two-division UFC titleholder Henry Cejudo at UFC 323, where the Reno, NV native rose to the occasion and took a clear unanimous decision over the Olympic gold medalist to secure the biggest win of his career.

Figueiredo vs. Talbott would easily be the biggest fight added to UFC 332 thus far, and earlier this week former TUF winner Court McGee also announced that he’ll be competing for the final time when the UFC returns to Salt Lake City on October 3.
