UFC CEO Dana White Hints at Huge UFC Event With Similarities to Freedom 250

UFC CEO Dana White has kept himself busy as of late.

Fresh off trips to Serbia and Ireland for UFC Fight Night and Zuffa Boxing events, respectively, White was briefly back in Las Vegas Tuesday in anticipation of the UFC's blockbuster return to Philadelphia for UFC 330 Saturday night from Xfinity Mobile Arena featuring two title fights: Islam Makhachev vs. Ian Machado Garry (welterweight) and Mackenzie Dern vs. Gillian Robertson (strawweight) in the main and co-main events.

Beyond the scope of the UFC 330 event, which could see Makhachev successfully defend his welterweight title for the first time and surpass Anderson Silva for the UFC's longest win streak at 17 should he be victorious, White told Pat McAfee Tuesday that the UFC is already looking to outdo itself from its historic White House event (aka UFC Freedom 250), which took place in June.

Could UFC Stage Bigger Event Than White House?

White said Borsari, whose role has everything to do with the UFC's television product on fight night and the promotion's shoulder programming alongside other assets, is apparently getting "cocky" about where the UFC is headed in terms of its event scale.

In recent years, White had teased an event at the Roman Colosseum, which would have likely featured a celebrity MMA fight between Mark Zuckerberg (Meta) and Elon Musk ('X'). White had previously stated the fight was nearly going to happen, but fell apart at the 1-yard line.

"It's impossible," White told reporters in June after UFC Vegas 119. "Because I was negotiating the deal with Zuckerberg and Musk — that was real."

White said that logistics got in the way, however.

"I was literally in my backyard for two weeks negotiating that fight, and they wanted [it to be in] the Colosseum," White added. "The Colosseum wanted something like $150 million to do it there, which would go into a fund that restores all the iconic places in Italy."

White wouldn't go into further detail regarding Borsari's idea, but did admit that should the deal occur, it would be announced live on ESPN (the UFC's old broadcast partner) alongside McAfee.

For now, the UFC machine continues with its first DWCS episode to begin Season 10, which is now open to ticketed fans during the entire 10-week schedule. The season begins Tuesday night, starting shortly after 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.

We'll see if White's tease comes to fruition. If it does, it could easily rival its White House counterpart.
