UFC Analyst Laughs Off Conor McGregor's Recent Claim: "Come On Now"

This UFC analyst isn't sold.

One UFC analyst doesn't believe there's a chance Conor McGregor's desire for a slew of fights per year will happen.

During a recent interview with UFC roving reporter Megan Olivi, McGregor expressed his desire to fight three or four times a year. Fight fans have been skeptical of that claim and are even questioning whether or not the "Notorious" one truly wants to fight again.

During an episode of ESPN+'s "UFC Live," coach analyst Din Thomas reacted to McGregor's claim and he clearly doesn't take it seriously.

"Come on now," Thomas replied. "We know Conor is not fighting three or four times a year. We know that's not gonna happen. It would be great if he did, but there's not three or four guys in the UFC that he's probably willing to fight. So, the reality is that Conor's gonna and take the fights that he wants to fight. Plus, it's an event. It's an absolute event when Conor fights. You can't do an event three times a year."

With that said, Thomas feels that if it were possible, then the extra fights per year would do wonders for the "Notorious" one.

"If he could fight three or four in a year, I think it would be absolutely excellent for Conor," Thomas said. "I mean, just being able to get it over and over and over again would be great."

UFC President Dana White admitted to reporters following UFC Vegas 74 that it's hard to convince popular fighters such as McGregor to stick around after they've made so much money. This has left many to wonder if McGregor will re-enter the USADA testing pool and actually go through with the Michael Chandler fight.
