UFC Reveals Dates & Locations for Marquee End-of-Year Numbered Events

The UFC's numbered event schedule is filled through the end of the year.

With the UFC's event calendar inching closer to September, its numbered event calendar is also transitioning from summer to fall and winter as the weather changes.

Additional UFC-numbered events were announced Saturday night during the UFC Sacramento broadcast, though both mentions were brief. In November, the UFC will return to Madison Square Garden, as the promotion has held annual events there for the better part of a decade.

No fights were officially announced by the UFC as of yet for UFC 334, as main event options for title fights are becoming thinner with flyweight, featherweight, and bantamweight in the men's category already booked for UFC 331 (Joshua Van vs. Alexandre Pantoja 2) and UFC 333 (a worthy doubleheader featuring Alexander Volkanovski and Petr Yan) defending their respective titles Sept. 19 and Oct. 24 in Los Angeles, CA, and Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Regarding New York City, the UFC has mixed up its title fights in recent years. Last year at UFC 322, UFC Welterweight Champion Islam Makhachev earned his second title over Jack Della Maddalena in the main event, while other years have featured the likes of former champions Daniel Cormier, Jon Jones, and Conor McGregor in the headlining spot.

The UFC is likely under immense pressure to deliver above and beyond come Saturday, Nov. 14. The reason being that the following week, TKO and UFC CEO Dana White, the frontman for Zuffa Boxing, are at the center of a massive hurdle in trying to book a mega heavyweight boxing match between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua for the following Friday, Nov. 20, with rumblings of Madison Square Garden as the host arena.

So, therefore, two marquee events back-to-back weekends would hope to usher in a substantial return on investment, should Fury vs. Joshua happen.

Its December show, though, is much clearer, as T-Mobile Arena closes out the year of marquee UFC PLE's (Premium Live Events) with UFC 335. It's set for Las Vegas on Saturday, Dec. 12, a familiar date for the MMA leader, as UFC 107 was held on the same date from Memphis, TN, in 2009.

Last year, the UFC saw a championship doubleheader at UFC 323 in Las Vegas, which happens to be the same two aforementioned rematches mentioned above, as both Merab Dvalishvili and Pantoja attempt to regain their belts this fall.

With those two fights booked, options are again on a tightrope as the UFC looks for a fresh headliner. Should Kayla Harrison be 100 percent healed from her neck injuries, her highly'anticipated fight with former two-division champion Amanda Nunes could be rebooked, as Harrison's women's bantamweight title would be up for grabs.

For now, though, the dust hasn't settled just yet.
