Dana White was present for UFC Austin and witnessed the controversial stoppage of Jalin Turner vs. Bobby Green, the night's co-main event.

A dominant first-round win for Turner, a vicious spree of punches saw Green nearly unconscious and not intelligently defending himself.

According to White, the referee, a veteran in Kerry Hatley, knew he messed up.

"One of the worst [stoppages] I've ever seen," White said.

Unlike previous officiating mistakes, White sympathized with Hatley and hinted at moments that went sour in the past, such as Mario Yamasaki.

"So, the difference is, you know, we've had some refs say some dumb s*** in the past," White said. "Like, 'I allowed her to be a warrior tonight' and goofy s*** like that. He knows that he made a mistake tonight and he does not feel good about it. He's bummed out about it. s\So, yeah, It's unfortunate. Definitely a bad stoppage."

Turner's victory snapped a two-fight losing skid and gave him his first knockout win since March 2022, where he defeated Jamie Mullarkey.

Turner improved to 7-4 in the UFC and 14-7 overall as he halted the sudden turnaround of Green, who had won two straight, including a win against former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson.

The bout was one of five KO/TKO finishes on the card, as the event saw the highest-grossing gate in Moody Center history and the biggest U.S. Fight Night event in promotional history.

The schedule continues with two more events, capped off by the end-of-year UFC 296 pay-per-view on Dec. 16.
