Joe Rogan Will Not Be Attending UFC 297, Commentary Replacement Has Been Found

Rogan won't be attending UFC 297.

Joe Rogan will not be making the trip for UFC 297, and his replacement has been revealed.

UFC 297 will be held inside Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada this Saturday night. Not even the wackiness of Sean Strickland could convince Rogan to make the international trip, however. Rogan has limited his appearances on UFC programming to pay-per-views for events held in the United States, and UFC 297 is no exception.

So, who will replace Joe Rogan at the upcoming UFC PPV?

MMAJunkie.com reports that former two-time UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz will be replacing Rogan on the first UFC PPV of 2024. He'll be joining UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier and play-by-play ace Jon Anik in the booth.

Cruz will also be a part of Friday's weigh-in show, which will begin at 9 a.m. ET. He'll also join Daniel Cormier on the morning show, but former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman will also be a part of the weigh-in festivities. It'll be hosted by Dan Hellie.

As far as the voice of the Octagon is concerned, fear not, as Bruce Buffer will be handling ring introductions. Megan Olivi will be the roving reporter, giving fans some insight during fighter entrances, as well as conducting backstage interviews. Throughout the UFC 297 broadcast, Din Thomas will chime in with what he's seeing from the fighters, and he'll also discuss corner strategies.

UFC 297 will be headlined by a middleweight title fight between champion Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis. In the co-headliner, Raquel Pennington and Mayra Bueno Silva will collide for the vacant UFC women's bantamweight title.
