Son of Umaga and Bloodline Member Reportedly Signs With WWE

Don't look for WWE to abandon the Bloodline storyline anytime soon as another member of its lineage has reportedly signed with the company.

Update: Zilla Fatu confirmed the reports that he had signed with WWE when he made his television debut on Tuesday night's edition of NXT.

Umaga's legacy will live on in WWE as his son has reportedly signed with the company.

Umaga, a former two-time WWE Intercontinental Champion, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack in 2009. Fans still fondly remember the Samoan Bulldozer's path of terror when he went undefeated for almost two years before suffering his first defeat at the hands of John Cena in 2007.

His finisher, the Samoan Spike, is still seen on WWE programming today and is used by his nephew, Solo Sikoa, as a tribute to the legendary star. Now, a new report suggests that his son has signed with the company.

Umaga's son, Zilla Fatu, has reportedly signed with WWE

Prior to tonight's episode of WWE NXT, False Finish is reporting that, according to their sources, Zilla Fatu was spotted at the Performance Center. The general belief is that Fatu has signed a contract with WWE.

It was initially reported in June that Zilla Fatu had been seen at the Performance Center and was going through the process of preparing to sign with WWE.

Fatu recently dropped the House of Glory Crown Jewel Championship to Amazing Red on August 7, likely signifying his final match on the independent scene for the time being.

Is Zilla Fatu the free agent Robert Stone has been talking to in WWE NXT?

While many would have expected WWE to immediately interject Zilla Fatu into the current Bloodline storyline on Raw, perhaps they are taking a different approach for Fatu's debut instead.

On last week's episode of WWE NXT, General Manager Robert Stone was seen backstage speaking to a free agent on the phone. If the company wants to play the long game with Zilla Fatu, starting him in NXT would certainly help, as the brand struggles to maintain top male superstars. The women's division has essentially dominated on Tuesday nights for quite some time now.

It's also possible that Zilla's time in NXT could be relatively short, as his cousin Solo Sikoa has been forced to rejoin The Bloodline against his will.

With Jey Uso set to deliver Solo Sikoa to Roman Reigns next week on Raw, it would be the perfect time to debut someone like Zilla Fatu to give Solo a dependable ally when he needs one the most.

Whatever WWE intends to do with Fatu, it certainly seems like he'll be popping up on WWE programming sooner rather than later.
