One of the most touching moments in Arkansas prep basketball this winter garnered Sheridan junior guard Noah Romine SBLive’s Arkansas High School Athlete of the Week honors for Jan. 8-14. 

Romine, who totaled 23,238 votes (37.5%), had a career game just a few days following his mother’s funeral. She died in a traffic accident in Texas earlier in the month.

The 5-foot-8 Romine scored 15 points with 8 assists in a 59-52 loss to Hot Springs Lakeside. Romine scored 32 points in a 66-45 victory over White Hall. The 32 points is a career high.

Earlier in the week, Romine had 15 points and 8 assists in a loss to Hot Springs Lakeside.

Taylor girls basketball player Heidi May was second with 12,701 votes (20.49%).
